Position Overview

Your responsibilities will span assisting with project scheduling, equipment and subcontractor procurement, and document control, among others. We have internship positions available in several of our divisions in Helm:

  • Mechanical Division – responsible for the HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping scopes of work for new construction projects as well as remodel work in buildings such as K-12 schools, hospitals, high-rise buildings, data centers, athletic facilities, waterparks, and other commercial building types.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project schedules.
  • Support field labor coordination.
  • Assist in procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Help manage subcontractor services.
  • Learn to maintain document control.
  • Help coordinate project activities.
  • Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation.
  • Investigate problems and/or reported incidents and help identify solutions.
  • Attend weekly job progress meetings

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an accredited bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work full-time in the summer (mid-May thru early August, dates can be flexible based on school schedule)

Salary & Benefits
